StillHere was founded by Megna Vegi, a student at The University of Texas at Austin, and is currently independently operated by its founder.
I created StillHere because I know what it feels like to need support and not know where to find it.
When I was twelve, someone close to me passed away. In the months and years that followed, I often felt alone in my grief. The adults around me cared and wanted to help, but I didn't always want to talk to a counselor, teacher, or someone who seemed far removed from what I was experiencing. Sometimes, when people reached out, I insisted that I didn't need help - even when I did.
What I wish I had was a place where I could connect with people my own age who understood some version of what I was going through, find support on my own terms, and have more control over when and how I reached out.
That experience became the foundation for StillHere.
I originally built StillHere to help teens and young adults navigate grief. As the platform grew, so did its purpose. Today, StillHere is designed to support young people through grief as well as challenges such as anxiety, depression, loneliness, family difficulties, and other experiences that can be hard to navigate alone.
At the center of StillHere is community. The community feed gives young people a space to share what they're going through and hear from others around their age who may understand. The resource finder helps users discover relevant support near them and online based on their location and needs - including counseling, peer-support groups, grief programs, crisis services, and other forms of support.
StillHere also gives users private tools for the moments they may not be ready to talk to another person. They can journal, track their mood and personal journey, use grounding exercises and a wellness toolkit on difficult days, or talk with StillHere.ai when they need somewhere to put what they're feeling.
None of these tools are meant to replace professional care. I built them to make the space between struggling and asking for help feel a little less empty.
My goal with StillHere is to give young people something I wish I had: a place where they can feel understood, find real support beyond the walls of their school, and take the next step at their own pace.
StillHere is independently operated and continues to grow as its community and resource network expand.
